Mr. Shen is a ember of China, Shanghai Artists Association and of the Canadian International Artists Association. He currently serves as professor at Donghua University in Shanghai.

Liming Shen’s distinctive style absorbs both Western abstract expressionism and Chinese ink painting techniques. His stylish use of color and wash reflect the rich historical legacy of Chinese ink painting of reminiscent old-time dream, in which all the objective matters from the past were blurred, as if the painted lines, once been imprinted, were washed away somehow. Over four decades, he has created paintings by absorbing both Chinese and Western aesthetics, just like the pursuit of ideality that is beyond realistic representation of his mind.
